Australian MotoTrials Championship comes to Sydney 29th-30th August
As official Supporting Sponsor of the Xispa Australian MotoTrials Championship, we can’t wait for next weekend.
Our Post Classic class 1985 Honda TLR 200 is in the garage being fitted with a new custom made muffler and new clutch kit in preparation for the big event.
We will have a marquee set up in Trade Alley where we will be selling our new range of Retro Motorcycle T-Shirts, jerseys, caps, beanies and stickers. Please come down and say hello!
Of most interest to our readers will be the action in the Classic and Post Classic classes with riders skillfully piloting their mighty Bultaco Sherpa’s, Monetesa Cota’s, Kawasaki KT’s, Yamaha TY’s, Suzuki RL’s, and Honda TL and TLR’s.
Here is the official blurb…..
The high flying antics of the top Australian and Kiwi MotoTrials riders comes to Sydney on the 29th and 30th of August (next weekend) at Pacific Park Motorcycle complex, South Maroota.
The Xispa 2009 Australian Mototrials Championships is the premier event in the Motorcycle trials calendar and see the very best riders compete for top honours.
Pacific Park Motorcycle complex is less than 1 hour from the CBD of Sydney. Situated at 1000 Wisemans’ Ferry Road on the bank of the picturesque Hawkesbury River. Entry fees are $5 for adults and $2 for children.
MotoTrials is the oldest form of Motorcycle sport, and now one of the most spectacular. Spectators can stand within meters of the riders and marvel at the incredible balance and gravity defying talents of the trials exponents.
Riders attempt to negotiate a series of obstacles without putting a foot down, falling off, or stalling the bike. They leap up shear rock walls, and balance over knife-edge precipices.
This requires incredible balance, throttle and clutch control and outstanding motorcycle handling techniques
Many of the skills perfected in MotoTrials are essential in other Motorcycle disciplines. Many International champions honed their skills in MotoTrials, including Enduro World Champion Stefan Merriman, Moto GP riders Casey Stoner and Mick Doohan, and International stars like Chad Reed and Ricky Carmichael
