Classic Throttle Shop to put the hammer down!
Sydney based classic car business Classic Throttle Shop has recently launched CTS Auctions, Australia’s first premium auction business to focus exclusively on the classic and collector car market.
The new business will be headed up by Robert Glover, formerly National Head of Collectors’ Motor Cars at Bonhams & Goodman.
Managing Director and founder Rory Johnston claims, “This exciting new venture is going to shake up the collector car auction market by providing buyers and sellers with a world-class experience never before seen in Australia.”
Johnston adds, “Robert was our first choice to head up the auction side of the business. His experience working for one of the world’s leading auction houses in Europe, as well as Australia gives him an invaluable understanding of the international market place. This knowledge coupled with his success in delivering the most successful collectors car auction ever to take place in Australia not to mention a number of world record auction prices achieved makes him the ideal candidate to head up our auction operation and we are delighted to have him on board.”
The CTS Auctions team promises to deliver a new and exciting auction process that will appeal to an increasingly discerning customer base that wants high-class and exciting auction events.
Johnston comments, “Our experience within the classic car industry tells us that the market in Australia is ready for a more exciting approach to classic car auction events that is more akin to events held overseas. For my colleagues and I, the move into running top end auction events is the natural path for the brand to take and the idea has already been very well received by our clients, both locally and overseas.”
Glover adds, “I have watched with interest the growing success of the CTS brand and have been most impressed with the way Rory Johnston and his team operate. I believe the combination of experience and enthusiasm at CTS is unrivalled within Australia and that, allied to our plans to be the only auction business in Australia exclusively focused on the premium collector & classic car environment, will ensure a truly world class auction experience can be provided for both buyers and sellers alike.”
CTS Auctions plans to hold two major annual auctions initially (in Sydney and Melbourne) before expanding further within the Australasian region.
With the announcement of this new branch of the business, CTS Auctions has already had significant interest from a wide range of buyers and sellers both nationally and internationally and plans to announce their first auction event details shortly.
In just six years Classic Throttle Shop has established a classic car business that sits comfortably in the top tier of classic car brands in the southern hemisphere. Offering quality motorcars to the premium end of the market from their exceptional facility under the world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge, the company’s focus is on exceptional service, combined with stylish presentation, something Johnston promises will carry through to the new CTS Auctions arm.
