Suixtil Retro Racewear

I recently received a fantastic story from Vincent Metais, who, with his business partners, have revived the famous Suixtil brand.

An icon of the 50s & 60s when it was sponsoring the Argentinean racing team (including Fangio), the Suixtil brand rapidly became an emblem of the spirit of the times and embodied friendship, courage and an indomitable will to push the boundaries of what was possible.

Fangio gladly gave away his Suixtil race pants and shirts to other Formula One challengers and friends. The Suixtil race gear then became the “must-have” outfit for any race driver in Europe and the Americas as it was the very first generation of professional race gear.

It therefore became the brand of choice for  legendary drivers such as Peter Collins, Wolfgang Von Trips, Stirling Moss, Paul Frere and many more.

Vincent and the team at Suixtil have re established the brand after it was threatened by extinction and have now put together a Heritage Line, for true aficionados, that faithfully recreates the garment of the time, including  race pants and shirts, together with the red long sleeve polo shirt and the navy blue sweater, that formed the basis of the original Suixtil racing uniform.

The team have dedicated a lot of effort and resources to participate in key events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed, The Mille Miglia and the Silverstone Classic so keep an eye out for them at your favourite classic event.
