Alain de Cadenet talks us through the rich heritage of one of Americas most famous racing cars. The Chevrolet Corvette L88.
The story begins with the number 9 car which entered Le Mans in 1967 and led the GT class on debut. And thanks to a thundering 500+ HP, the American machine pulled an impressive 171mph down the Mulsanne straight and sowed the seeds for legendary status.
“The Cad” then tells us about the Tony DeLorenzo roadster which had an incredible season in 1969, winning 22 consecutive races making it the most successful Corvette in history.
