VMXWA 15th Anniversary Scramble 27-29 August 2010

Submitted by on July 14, 2010

The Vintage Motocross Club of Western Australia are celebrating their 15th year with an Anniversary Scramble for its club Members. With a number of special guest riders from overseas attending, including former British scramble champions Vic Allen and Bryan Wade, and many VMXWA Members pulling out their old bikes for this celebratory event, it’s sure to be a fun packed weekend of solo and sidecar racing…vintage motocross style!

This event will be held at the Club’s home track, Dandaloo Park, Narrogin, Western Australia over the weekend of 27th to 29th August 2010. Starting off with practice day on Friday 27th, then the real racing begins around 10am on Saturday 28th and 8.30am on Sunday 29th, both days should finish around 3.30-4pm. Spectator entry is free and there are canteen and toilet facilities at the track (strictly no dogs allowed).

VMXWA is the leading body actively promoting Vintage motocross in Western Australia, running a full winter calendar from March through to around October, using various natural terrain tracks and Dandaloo Park, which is its established 70’s era track, originally opened in 1966 by the Narrogin Motor Cycle Club. Being an exclusively pre-75 era, all bikes must be built before December 31st 1974, with no more than 7” front wheel travel and 4” rear wheel travel to be eligible for vintage motocross.

VMXWA is all about the sights, sounds, smell and camaraderie of the ‘golden years of motocross’ – the 60’s and 70’s . The underlying theme in Vintage Motocross is “The spirit of the era”. You wont find any modern obstacles on the VMX track, but you will find mud, dirt, dust, hills and a group of riders who love the sport and the bikes they ride.
