Video: Barbour Bike Jacket celebrating 75 years
I love this ad. I think its fabulous that the Barbour brand is doing authentic work and using its motorsport heritage so successfully. Its also impressive to see what guys can do on twin shock trials bikes.
The Barbour bike jacket has been around for 75 years, but most of us will know it from Steve McQueen and the US ISDT team wearing them in the 1964 event in Germany.
Barbour have also released a new range of “Brights” to resurrect their 1970’s race suits.
Here is the official blurb
Original Greens – Barbour Biker Jacket
“Discover the origins of the biker jacket. These limited edition jackets come in two finishes, both with the original six pockets, belted and carrying the famous Ancient Tartan lining.
The first, a box fresh version and the second a painstakingly-crafted distressed finish.
Highly collectible, they’re the ultimate homage to Barbour’s unsurpassed motorcycling heritage.”
Brights – Barbour nylon race suit
“Bold and bright tones remain prevalent this year when Barbour continues its 75th anniversary of the famous motorcycle clothing including the iconic International. Commemorate 75 years in style this Spring /Summer with 70’s inspired nylon biker jackets in seven bright colours, all paying homage to Barbour’s 1970 racing suits.”
Throughout 2011 Barbour will continue to celebrate 75 years of The International’s motorcycling heritage with events, displays and limited-editions from the archive.
