Video: The 1976 Japanese Grand Prix

The 1976 Formula One season was rife with action and controversy, concluding with just one point separating James Hunt and Niki Lauda in the drivers’ championship.
This video comes from round sixteen at Fuji Speedway. After an incredible championship battle in which Hunt had slowly chipped away Lauda’s massive early season lead, and during which Lauda had made a heroic return to Formula One after near death at the Nurburgring, just three points separated the two drivers.
The video starts with a brilliantly retro recap of the ’76 season and concludes with coverage of the first Japanese Grand Prix. It’s packed with awesome and unique cars, fearless drivers, and plenty of retro motorsport action. A terrific watch!
