Auction Preview: Coys Spring Classics
Car culture in the summer time is a wonderful thing. Whether you’re cruisin’ in your classic, hangin’ at a historic motorsport event or both, the sunny skies, warm wind in your hair and summer atmosphere really emphasise the golden in the golden eras.
Coys are looking to put you in a classic in time for summer with their upcoming ‘Spring Classics’ auction, and they have a lovely collection of cars ready to go. The draws for the sale are an absolutely stunning 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster and a 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2. They’re expected to fetch up to £110,000 and £140,000 respectively.
The 1963 Jaguar E Type FIA Race car and ’67 Jaguar E-Type Low Drag Coupe are excellent options for getting into historic racing while the ’59 Austin Healey 3000 is a lovely choice for historic rally and the ’55 Austin Healey BN1 will gain you eligibility for events like the Mille Miglia.
There are even a few historically significant Formula One offerings in the form of a 1998 Barrell-Tyrrell 026 Formula 1 and 1999 BAR 199 Formula 1 Chassis. These come from Tyrrell‘s final years in the sport, during which the team was sold to British American Racing (BAR), becoming British American Racing in 1999.
Coys’ Spring Classics auction will be held on the 6th March, 2012, at the Royal Horticultural Halls in Westminster, London.
