For Sale: 1963 Jaguar Mark 2

The guys ar Classic Throttle Shop have this 1963 Jag racer for sale. Here is the blurb – Jaguar Mark 2 has been a favourite amongst collectors and enthusiasts for many years. The Coventry based manufacturer began production of the Mark 2 in 1959 and produced what would be one of the brands most popular models, Used in the UK by cops and criminals because of its speed and agility the Mark 2 is still one of the best British saloons ever produced.

The car we have on offer was purchased in 1992 with the intention of using the car in historic races. Setting to work he began the task of modifying the old cat into what can only be described as an anger feline waiting to pounce. With 296 bhp this car is really fast, bigger drive shafts and manual four speed with over drive and bored out to 3.8 litre has made this a real contender. The driver’s seat has been replaced with a proper racing seat with harness and the car will come with a new cams log book.

An ideal way to get involved with historic racing, it would cost almost twice the asking price to get a car to this level for racing. A lot of time and money has gone into this car making it the angry growling racer we see today. There is a huge file documenting the work carried out and the dyno readings showing the massive bhp the old cat produces. The car sits on period Mini Lite wheels and has the original blue leather interior surrounded by the safety of a full roll cage. The cage can be easily removed to turn the car back to street legal and ready for registration.
