With ex-Mercedes-Benz designer Paul Bracq at the helm, and some significant racing success in the ‘80s fueling BMW’s legend, BMW’s E24 6-series opened a new chapter in the company’s design philosophy, as well as enjoying great popularity through an impressively long production run.
It all started with Bracq’s 1972 Turbo gull-wing mid-engined concept car, which would eventually become the stunning M1, and to make things interesting it shared more than a few connections to the LJ Torana GTR XU-1.
