When I think of the German Grand Prix, I think Nordschleife.
The Green Hell hasn’t hosted the German Grand Prix since Niki Lauda’s horrendous crash in ’76, but that doesn’t mean that F1 has been completely absent from its hallowed bends.
Schumacher rolled out a 2011 W02 Mercedes F1 car this past May for a spin around the track, and back in 2007 Nick Heidfeld took his BMW Sauber around as well. Neither lap is an on-the-limit assault on Stefan Bellof’s 6:11 time, but both are good to watch, and get you wondering – how much faster have we gotten in the past 30 years?
