For Sale: Brabham BT-29
With a fresh motor, period racing success and full history, this exceedingly-pretty example of Brabham’s developmental prowess is a great buy for the historic racer looking to mix it with the best, in one of the best. It’s up for sale over at Fantasy Junction.
The car was campaigned by Chester ‘Chet’ Freeman in ’69 and ’70, who achieved some degree of success in SCCA racing in the Mid-Atlantic.
It was then restored and returned to racing in the mid-’90s with owner Asa Candler campaigning it in historic racing events for the next twelve years.
The ’00s proved difficult for the car, and it was crashed in 2008. This signaled time for a restoration and it was fully dismantled and repaired. Suspension, brakes and transmission were rebuilt and refurbished as necessary with a full suite of work undertaken throughout the car to bring it back to the standard of its glory days.
It’s now in great nick, competitive and eligible for historic events throughout the world in a spirited and fun class of historic racing. Looks like a lot of fun!
