Weird F1 sponsors: Senna and Dragon Ball Z
Submitted by msr on May 21, 2014
When it comes to weird, wacky and wonderful sponsors Formula 1 drivers have picked up through the years – this has to be up there.
Yes, this really happened. Some time back in 1990 Ayrton Senna reportedly sat down with Japanese Manga artist Akira Toriyama, best known for the world famous Dragon Ball series.
The results are what you see here today. Akira Toriyama drew these pieces specifically for Shonen Jump magazine, and if you look closely, you’ll spot their logo on the very nose of the McLaren MP4/5 Ayrton drove during the 1990 season. Amazing stuff.
