Porsche 911 GT1 – Mark Webber and the monster (video)

Being a works driver for Porsche, Mark Webber gets to play with all the toys.
This toy is particularly special, too. What we’re looking at is the Porsche 911 GT1 98, the very same car which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998 and the last car to ever win the race on behalf of the Porsche marque. The 24 Hours of Le Mans was a huge part of shaping the Porsche brand during the 20th century, and the site of their most dedicated motorsport efforts.
This means that the Porsche 911 GT1 98 is a very important piece of Porsche history, and in this video current Porsche 919 pilot Mark Webber is given the opportunity to slide behind the wheel of the 16-year old machine and give it a wrap at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
