For Sale: Ex-Works Hans-Joachim Stuck 1995 Audi Quattro Super Tourer

Driven in 1995 in the German ADAC Super Tourenwagen Cup by Hans-Joachim Stuck, this magnificent 1995 Audi Quattro Super Tourer is heading to auction at Silverstone Auctions’ upcoming Race Retro Classic Car Sale on the 21st of February, 2015.

The car, chassis ST07, is an original Quattro from early in the run. In 1995 it finished fourth overall in the German ADAC Super Tourenwagen Championship, in which it was driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck. It also found success in the hands of Frank Biela, Jo Winkelhock, Roberto Ravaglia and Emanuele Pirro, before heading to South Africa in 1996 to compete in the South African Super Touring Championship with Chris Aberdein driving.

ST07 started collecting historic racing silverware in 2011, when Angel Bello won the Canary Islands Championship with it. In 2014 it was purchased by its current owner, who returned it to its original Hans Joachim-Stuck STW livery and was invited to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. There it climbed the hill in lucky thirteenth – no mean feat.

Described by the owner as “on the button and ready to race”, the car is fit to fight and will be welcome at historic race meetings around the world.

It has a 290bhp 2-litre four-cylinder under the hood, which puts power to the wheels through a six-speed sequential box. The engineering of the car is absolutely beautiful, and the level of technology for the time is impressive. It’s sold with a comprehensive spares package that includes ten spare wheels and tyres, including wets, body panels, front and rear bumpers, carbon bits and brakes – sounds like a good racing kit to us!
