Audi R8 Blows Flames on the Dyno

Audi R8 V10 plus stars in one of the most memorable automotive television commercials in recent years. Watching a V10 engine blow flames never gets old. Call us nostalgic, but automotive television commercials just aren’t what they used to be. There’s rarely the same daring themes, the same passion, or the same excitement that a classic piece of advertising designed to sell a high performance machine would evoke.

One major exception was the piece created by Audi a couple of years ago to promote their flagship road-going supercar: The Audi R8 V10 plus. The concept was simple – remove the rear bumper, bar re-enforcement and final part of the exhaust system, strap the monster to a rolling road and give it hell. The result was magic – blue flames and that unmistakable V10 roar. Audi – more of this, please!
