Spend the Golden Hour Cruising in a Nardi-Danese 6C 2500

Nardi-Danese 6C 2500

Put on a helmet and goggles, and go back seventy years to spend some time driving and learning about this beautiful and incredibly rare 1948 Nardi-Danese 6C 2500.

Dick DeLuna is a racer, and a man who’s clearly at one with the spirit of historic motorsport. He found this stunning old Nardi, when it was just a beaten-up Italian race car of indeterminate origin, worked out what it was, and gave it an astonishing nut-and-bolt restoration. Then, he got out and used it. A lot!

He just got back from a rally through Africa comprising 28 days, 6100 miles and five countries. We love it.

“The thing is a race car. And because you’re sitting down so low, you feel every bump; every movement.”

The car is one of just three Nardi-Danese 6C 2500s made. In the ’30s Enrico Nardi got his start as a test driver and engineer for Lancia and Scuderia Ferrari. He went on to make three of these cars for the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio at the end of the ’40s.

This car is one of those three, and raced extensively in period.

Today it’s clearly in good hands! This short film by Petrolicious spends some time cruising through the golden hour as Dick DeLuna talks about his 6C 2500’s tech, history and feel. Brilliant.
