Can-Am Fever: On Board Shadow DN4-1P at Road America
Hop on board Shadow DN4-1P at Road America and qualify for the Can-Am 50th Anniversary race with Dave Handy.
The Weathertech International Challenge with Brian Redman was held earlier this month at Road America. The event attracted 480 historic racing cars, and ran in front of an impressive 50,000 spectators.
Amongst those 480 historic racers were 52 historic Can-Am cars. 2016 marks 50 years since Can-Am’s inaugural 1966 season and the cars were there to celebrate. 40 made the starting line for the Sunday feature race, which Dave Handy went on to win in this magnificent 1974 Shadow DN-4.
Dave’s Shadow ran as part of the 2016 UOP Shadow Tribute, which is a four-race tour celebrating the UOP-sponsored Shadow DN4s that dominated Can-Am racing in 1974. Dave is driving the team’s original development prototype car, chassis 1P.
Hop on board with him for a few laps of the qualifying race, which features some great Can-Am dicing. If you’d like to see the Shadows in action in person, you’ll be able to catch them at the final event in the 2016 UOP Shadow Tribute at the Monterey Historics this August 18-20.
