During the weekend of 15th – 17th June the second edition of the Nürburgring Classic will be held at the Nürburgring, situated in the beautiful Eifel region in western Germany. One of the absolute highlights is the presence of classic DTM cars, gathered into Tourenwagen Classics.
Over the weekend cars like the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, BMW E30, Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5 16V and many more will race on the Grand Prix loop. It was initially announced by the organisers that the cars would race at the notorious Nordschleife, but earlier in the week it became clear that due to safety measures the cars would not be able to face the ‘Green Hell’.
Back in 1993 it was Jörg van Ommen who claimed the pole position on the Nordschleife in a Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5 16V Evo II. The race was won by Nicola Larini in an Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti.
Amongst the participating cars a former Christian Danner Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti, a Juan-Pablo Montoya Mercedes-Benz C Class, an Ellen Lohr Mercedes-Benz C-Class and many more will thrill the crowds.
In 2017 the 90th anniversary of the Nürburgring was celebrated during the inaugural Nürburgring Classic. 17,000 spectators found their way to the track and we hope to see that improve for the sophomore running of the vent, which will feature no less than 18 races and demonstrations.
A short preview from the bulky programme sees Formula V, CanAm Supersports, Touring cars, Pre War cars, Youngtimers and many more. Besides this special demonstrations from McLaren and AMG will be presented.
Tickets for this not to be missed event can be found here.
