24 Hours of Le Mans Winners and Group C Cars Will Shine at the 2018 Le Mans Classic!

Over the weekend of Friday 6th July to Sunday 8th July the ninth edition of the glorious Le Mans Classic will take place. For this edition Peter Auto managed to attract no less than ten 24 Hours of Le Mans winners. Amongst the drivers are Jürgen Barth, Romain Dumas, Loïc Duval, Jan Lammers, Gerard Larousse, Klaus Ludwig, Jochen Mass, Stephane Ortelli, Henri Pescarolo and Marco Werner.
These legendary names can be seen in action during the event driving several iconic cars. Romain Dumas will race several cars, amongst them is a priceless Porsche 917. Henri Pescarolo, who holds for most entries into the event with 33 entries, will drive an Inaltera-prototype.
As well as these endurance racers three former Formula 1 drivers will take part. Rene Arnoux will drive both a Shelby Cobra 289 as well as a BMW M1 Procar, Jacques Laffite can be seen behind the wheel of a Lola T70 Mk.III and Paul Belmondo will drive a Porsche 935.
The Le Mans Classic is without doubt unique in the world of classic motor racing. The atmosphere of days gone by can be relived at this glorious event.
The biennial event consists of six different grids for cars which have competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The participating cars are divided into 6 classes such as, Grid 1 (1923-1939 (pre-WWII), Grid 2 (1949-156), Grid 3 (1957-1961), Grid 4 (1962-1965), Grid 5 (1966-1971) and finally Grid 6 (1972-1979). Each grid will feature around 75 cars competing.
Group C cars will be another big attraction over the weekend, with a stunning entry list featuring over 50 cars. Amongst the participating cars are five Jaguars, thirteen Porsche 962s, two Peugeot 905s, four Nissans, several Spice and many other cars.
The action-packed program will also include the Jaguar Classic Challenge and the Porsche Classic Race.
For the 2018 edition of the Le Mans Classic Global Endurance Legends will join the historic grids for the first time. A spectacular grid of 79 GTs and prototypes from the 1990s and 2000s will present a number of spectacular demonstrations.
To name just a few, Ferrari 333, 360, 430, 550 and 575, Chrysler Viper, McLaren F1 GTR, Aston Martin DB9, Maserati MC12, Porsche 993 and 996 GT2, Marcos LM500 and LM600, Audi R8 LMP, Bentley Speed 8, Saleen S-7R, Toyota GT One and many more.
