The 2019 edition of the renowned Spa Six Hours will take place on Spa-Francorchamps, one of the world’s most beautiful race tracks, this weekend over the 27th to the 29th of September.
More than 650 racing cars are expected for this major annual rendezvous, which will feature two major FIA historic championships, touring cars, GTs, sports cars and prototypes. The highlight of the weekend is the six hour endurance race that starts on Saturday afternoon with 106 cars on the grid including 15 epic Ford GT40s!
One of the biggest European historic motorsports events is once again organised by Vincent Collard and Alain Defalle from Roadbook. For the 2019 edition spectators will be treated to an epic programme including the FIA Masters Historic Formula 1 and Sports Cars Championship. From the UK Masters Historic Racing presents three different grids including Masters Pre-66 Touring Cars, Gentlemen Drivers Pre-66 GT Cars and the Aston Martin Masters Endurance Legends.
Celebrating the ’50s and ’60s both in Grand Prix cars as well as sports cars and prototypes are the Historic Grand Prix Car Association’s Woodcote Trophy and the Stirling Moss Trophy.
Besides the series mentioned above, the programme also welcomes Pre-War Sports Cars, the Historic Sports Car Club including several Can-Am bangers, the Jaguar Classic Challenge and last but not least the Historic Motor Racing News U2TC & Historic Touring Car Challenge with Tony Don Trophy.
On Sunday afternoon there’s a rare treat celebrating the Ford GT40 Le Mans ’69 Revival. No less than 50 Ford GT and GT40s in three generations participate as the start and finish of the original race with Ford GT40 number 6 in Gulf-livery leaves last and arrives a few laps later as the first.
We’ll be at Spa-Francorchamps to cover the event, and can’t wait! Tickets for this great and not to be missed event can be bought here.
