This Peugeot 206 WRC was raced by Marcus Grönholm in the 2001 ADAC Rallye Deutschland, continuing its World Rally Championship career all the way up to 2007. It’s up for sale at Art & Revs.
The car, chassis C31, was built for the 2001 season and specified for asphalt racing. As it continued its WRC career throughout the early 2000s, it picked up a few later-developed components along the way.
It ran once with the factory, when Marcus Grönholm and co-driver Rautiainen Timo piloted it in the 2001 ADAC Rallye Deutschland. The pair ran at the front through most of the event, winning a few stages along the way. They eventually finished fourth, after a puncture and piloting error set them back.
From the factory the car went to Bozian Racing in 2004, for whom it was driven by Nicolas Vouilloz and Henning Solberg. Its time in the WRC lasted until 2007, with later owners competing with it in the French Rally Championship and other local rallies.
In 2016 it was handed to SMG for a complete back-to-bare-metal restoration. Restoration complete, it went to a private collector who entrusted it to 206 WRC specialist Cristophe Vaison for its care.
It’s now in race ready condition, still cared for by Vaison Sport, and will be sold with spares package and the original FIA Gold pass.
