Have you always dreamed of having an original DTM machine in your garage? Now’s your chance, with a unique opportunity to acquire an ex-Roland Asch 1994 AMG Mercedes-Benz C-Class DTM.
Jan B. Lühn has made available this ex-Roland Asch DTM racer which made history in 1994 as the successor to the Mercedes 190E. Mercedes lost the DTM championship to Alfa Romeo in 1993, with the Alfa 155 V6 Ti leaving a convincing mark on a series that was until then dominated by German manufacturers.
With the arrival of the six-cylinder powered C-Class, Mercedes wanted to put things in order and once again win the coveted DTM title. In contrast to the Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti, which used four-wheel drive, Mercedes opted for rear-wheel drive and traction control.
The car offered by Jan B. Lühn is chassis RS 94 211, which made its debut with Roland Asch behind the wheel during the first DTM race of the 1994 season at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. Asch raced this chassis all season in 1994 and, although he was unable to secure a victory, he scored three podium finishes.
During the debut of the C-Class in Zolder, Asch finished second behind the Alfa Romeo of Alessandro Nannini. In Diepholz he crossed the finish line second behind the Mercedes of Klaus Ludwig, and in the ninth race of the year at the Nürburgring, he finished third behind the Mercedes of Jörg van Ommen and Klaus Ludwig.
